Alma Villaseñor, M. Paz Lorenzo, Mariana Silva and Coral Barbas from CEMBIO, together with researchers from  National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Maryland Institute for Neuroscience and Development (MIND), USA have recently published their results on plasma metabolomic patterns from patients treated with ketamine for bipolar depression, and evidence for a response-related difference in mitochondrial networks.
The results indicate that the differences between patients who respond to ketamine and those who do not are due to alterations in the mitochondrial β-oxidation of fatty acids. These differences were not produced by ketamine …
