  • Surname(s), First Name(s): Godzien, Joanna
  • Nationality: Polish
  • Academic degrees awarded: Master in Sciences (emphasis in Environmental Protection) 2008
  • Projects/activities: The main objective of my investigations is to study the nutraceutical effect of Rosemarinus officinalis extract on diabetics rats applying different techniques within metabolomics platform. Since now research on urine samples were performed by use LC-QTOF and CE-TOF.
    1. Metabolomic Approach with LC-QTOF to Study the Effect of a Nutraceutical Treatment on Urine of Diabetic Rats; Godzien J., Ciborowski M., Angulo S., Ruperez F. J., Martínez M. P.; Señorans F. J.; Cifuentes A.; Ibañez E.; Barbas C.; Journal of Proteome Research 2011, 10, (2), 837-844.
    2. Targeted and non-targeted approach to study Rosemarinus officinalis extract effect on diabetic rats; Godzien J., García D., Ruperez F.J., Barbas C.; Metabolomics – DOI: 10.1007/s11306-011-0351-y
Nowadays plasma samples fingerprinted with LC-QTOF and GC-Q are under investigation.
I also took part in development of procedure for lipids analysis by LC-QTOF. Results were published recently: In-vial dual extraction for direct LC-MS analysis of plasma for comprehensive and highly reproducible metabolic fingerprinting; Whiley L., Godzien J., Ruperez F. J., Legido-Quigley C., Barbas C.; Analitycal Chemistry – DOI: 10.1021/ac300716u.
